He is licensed to practice law both in the State of Ohio and Kentucky. His practice consists of commercial and residential real estate, including general commercial transactions, corporate law, commercial lending, commercial litigation, corporate organizations, zoning, probate, trusts and estate planning and administration. Mr. Butler has served as legal counsel for RiverCenter and Madison Place developments, The Ascent at Roebling’s Bridge in Covington, the Baldwin Complex in Cincinnati, and the Ovation development in Newport, Kentucky, amongst others. Mr. Butler is past Chairman of the Northern Kentucky University Board of Regents. He is past President of Northern Kentucky Habitat for Humanity, has served as a Board Member for Parish Kitchen, Senior Citizens of Northern Kentucky, and the Advisory Board of Southbank Fund. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Executive Committee for Northern Kentucky University Foundation, a member of the Board of Trustees of The Butler Foundation, a member of the Board of The Catalytic Development Funding Corp of Northern Kentucky, member of the Board for Urban Community Developers, and Chairman of the Board of Samaritan Car Care Clinic, Covington, Kentucky.
