Assistant Project Manager

Newport, KY

This person will work as part of the Construction Management team. The primary duty of the Assistant Project Manager is to assist our experienced team of Construction Managers and Site Managers with planning, execution, and reporting / documentation of assigned construction projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of assigned projects, including plans, specifications, logistics, materials, equipment, RFI’s, submittals, and other requirements.
  • Assist with all facets of project documentation management, including creation of purchase orders, updating project management files, RFI’s, submittals, and preparing & distributing meeting minutes.
  • Assist in coordinating the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include internal stakeholders, contractors, architects, consultants, subcontractors & permitting agencies.
  • Ensure that construction activities are progressing as outlined in contract and lease documents.
  • Work closely with Construction Controls Manager to assure all cost commitments are properly coded and entered into accounting system.
  • Assist the project management staff with ad hoc projects, reporting, and requests as needed.
  • Oversee and coordinate punch list activities.
  • Manage project close-out process, including warranties and as-built documentation.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • 0-5 years construction management experience, with preference to those with experience in the construction industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or relevant field
  • Strong team player
  • Desire to grow professionally.
  • Strong Communication/Organization skills.
